The Icarus Effect ergänzt den dritten Teil der legendären Spieleserie um weitere Storyhintergründe, über die bei der Verkündung allerdings noch nichts wirklich neues verraten wurde.

Als einziges nennenswertes Detail ist über die schriftliche Erweiterung des "Human Revolution"-Universums bisher nur bekannt gegeben worden, dass sie aus der Feder von "Sci-Fi"-Autor James Swallow (schrieb Bücher zu Warhammer 40,000 und Stargate) stammen und sich mit den beiden Hauptfiguren Anna Kelso (Secret Service Agent) sowie Ben Saxon (Special-Ops Soldier) beschäftigen wird.

Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, announced today that Del Rey Books will publish a novel based on the Deus Ex video game series. DEUS EX: THE ICARUS EFFECT will be written by author James Swallow and will release in 2011.
