20:09 Uhr - Mit Red Faction: Armageddon hat THQ am Wochenende den Nachfolger des Sandboxhits Red Faction: Guerrilla angekündigt, heute folgten weitere Details per Pressemeldung. So soll sich die Story des Spiels rund um den Enkel der beiden Hauptdarsteller aus dem Vorgänger ranken, der ein halbes Jahrhundert nach dem Sieg der Rebellen auf dem Mars versehentlich eine uralte Macht erweckt und damit das Armageddon auf dem roten Planeten einleitet. Das Abenteuer führt unter die Oberfläche bis ins Zentrum des Mars und in diesem Setting wird man sich mit neuen Waffen (u.a. eine Magnetkanone) und GeoMod 2.0 ab März 2011 auch kooperativ behaupten dürfen.

THQ today announced the next title in the award winning Red Faction franchise is currently in development at internal studio Volition, Inc. and is scheduled to ship for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in March 2011.
